Welcome to LIMMS web site

LiMMS is an international research unit on MEMS and NEMS (Micro- and Nano-Electro-Mechanical Systems) operated in joint names of France, CNRS - Institut des sciences de l'ingenierie et des Systemes INSIS, and Japan, Institute of Industrial Science (IIS), The University of Tokyo.

LiMMS is located on Komaba Campus (II), in Tokyo. Our Research activities are focused on 3 main fields related to micro- and nano- technologies: Bio MEMS, Nanotechnologies, Advanced MEMS.

EUJO-LIMMS Information Day - June 18,2014 organized by VTT at Haltia, Espoo (Finland)

In 2014, EUJO-LIMMS opened up to MESA+ Institute for Nanotechnology of The University of Twente in the Netherlands and will start building an active collaboration from April 2014 on. In order to introduce the new partnership and projects with MESA+, the results of current projects with partners, and start paving the way for the future of this EU laboratory, EUJO-LIMMS organizes an Information Day at Haltia, The Finnish Nature Centre - Espoo (Finland) on June 18, 2014. REGISTRATION by June 3, 2014.

MESA+, Institute for Nanotechnology of The University of Twente, The Netherlands, to join EUJO-LIMMS in April 2014

MESA+, Institute for Nanotechnology of the University of Twente, in The Netherlands, was selected among 5 excellent competitors to become a new partner of the EUJO-LIMMS project as of April 2014, after a call launched in 2013. The new partner will be introduced during the second EUJO-LIMMS InfoDay at VTT (Finland) on June 18, 2014.

first experimental observation of traveling concentration waves and spirals in a chemical reaction network built from the bottom up

We have reported the first experimental observation of traveling concentration waves and spirals in a chemical reaction network built from the bottom up. The mechanism of the network is a DNA oscillator of the predator–prey type. The molecular encoding of the nonequilibrium behavior relies on small DNA oligonucleotides that enforce the network connectivity and three purified enzymes that control the reactivity.

EUJO-LIMMS Workshop : October 25, 2013 at the University of Freiburg (Germany) - Registration by October 17, 2013

As part of its call for a 4th partner open now, EUJO-LIMMS, in cooperation with the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science Core-to-core program, organizes a Workshop at the University of Freiburg, Department of Microsystems Engineering (IMTEK) in Freiburg (Germany) on October 25, 2013.EUJO-LIMMS cooperation opportunities as well as emerging scientific challenges will be presented. Meet UT-IIS Professors and prepare an application to the call. Registration is open until October 17, 2013
