Welcome to LIMMS web site

LiMMS is an international research unit on MEMS and NEMS (Micro- and Nano-Electro-Mechanical Systems) operated in joint names of France, CNRS - Institut des sciences de l'ingenierie et des Systemes INSIS, and Japan, Institute of Industrial Science (IIS), The University of Tokyo.

LiMMS is located on Komaba Campus (II), in Tokyo. Our Research activities are focused on 3 main fields related to micro- and nano- technologies: Bio MEMS, Nanotechnologies, Advanced MEMS.

Title: Mechanism of skin pattern formation in living organisms. (Room An401/402 - PM5:00)

BNR # 46 - May 28th 2013 by Pr. Wilhelm HUCK

Title: Artificial Cells in Picoliter Droplets

BNR 45 : Pr. Matthias LUTOLF (EPFL) - Friday March 15th 2013, PM 5:00

Title : "Hydrogel microfluidics for stem cell fate control" Abstract: Biomolecular signaling is of upmost importance in governing the patterning of the developing embryo where biomolecules termed ‘morphogens’ regulate key cell fate decisions such as lineage specification. In vivo, these factors are presented in a spatiotemporally tightly controlled fashion and in the context of a soft and hydrated microenvironment. Traditional in vitro methods fall short of recapitulating this complex physiological biomolecule display. Emerging microfluidic technologies ...
