Research Projects in Limms

1- Integrated microfluidic chip for lipid bilayer membrane formation
 
Context :
In the nanomedicine field, the use of submicron structures is studied for delivery of pharmaceutical and diagnostic agents in the body, usually actively or passively targeting specificareas. Research efforts in this field have exponentially expanded in thepast decade. Nanoparticles carrying therapeutic agents can beengineered thusly that circulation in the bloodstream is enhancedand that accumulation in diseased tissue can be relatively higher than in healthy tissue. In this project, the materials used for encap-sulation in biomimeticnano-particles is formed and studied. The devices were made in the ISO4/5 cleanroom of MESA+ in Twente, The Netherlands.
