Colour AFM published in APL

Atomic Force Microscopy has revolutionized nanoscience by enabling the atomic characterisation of a surface's topography. But the AFM cantilever cannot "see" the chemical nature of the surface it is probing. Now a LIMMS team led by Pr Kawakatsu has reported a proof-of-principle for quickly revealing the chemical contrast of a surface thanks to a new control scheme and mathematical processing.
