Phononic paper published in Nature Communication

Innovative energy harvesting with nanosystems is one of the main research axis of LIMMS. The laboratory of Pr Nomura, a host professor of LIMMS, specialises in the study of nanophononics, which seeks to understand and control the flow of heat at the nanoscale, which is expected to bring about new applications in thermoelectricity. Two LIMMS researchers hosted in the Nomura lab (Dr Maire and Dr Ramiere) contributed to the development of a new sillicon device, where arrays of nanoholes are used to precisely guide heat flow, demonstrating radically new behaviour such as thermal lensing.
